Contribute to Barry's campaign!

The text below appears on financial contribution appeals for most congressional candidates:

Contributions are not tax deductible.  The maximum amount each individual may contribute is $2,300 per cycle, $4,600 per election.  Federal law requires political committees to use their best efforts in collecting the name, address, employer, and occupation for all contributions in aggregate of $200 in an election year.  Federal law prohibits contributions from corporations, labor organizations, non-US citizens, non-US residents, and contributions made in the name of another.

All that certainly applies, but how many people do you know that can afford to write a check for $4,600. $2,300? I'm afraid of what they would expect in return.

As an advocate for campaign finance reform, I will not accept contributions over $100. In addition, I will not accept contributions from Political Action Committees (PACs).

When big money is able to buy politicians, the public interest is not served. It shouldn't take millions of dollars to get elected to the U.S. Congress. However, spreading the message about the military budget and my candidacy does indeed cost money!

Please send all campaign contributions to:

Barry Hermanson For Congress 2008
2467 28th Avenue
San Francisco, CA 94116

Send as little as $5 (the amount that Arizona public financing candidates collect), $100, or any amount in between. Anything you can spare is very much appreciated. I'd like to represent you in Congress, even if you do not live in California's 12th Congressional District.

I will have a button for a credit card donation so that you can contribute on-line in the very near future.
